Chesapeake Housing Mission Completes 1000th Project, Celebrating a Major Milestone
**Salisbury, MD – September 20, 2024** — Chesapeake Housing Mission (CHM) celebrated a major milestone on Friday, September 20th, with the completion of its 1000th project. Board members, operations staff, and longtime volunteers joined forces in Wicomico County to build a wheelchair ramp for a client in need, marking a significant achievement in CHM’s nearly 15-year journey of serving the community.
“Completing our 1000th project is a reason for celebration for Chesapeake Housing Mission,” said Board Chair Maureen Williams. “The support we have had from our volunteers, staff, board, case managers, donors, sponsors, and clients has allowed us to help our neighbors in need for almost 15 years. This milestone is a testament to the power of community and the impact we can make when we work together.”
Founded in 2009 and operating out of Salisbury, Maryland, CHM is a non-profit charitable Christian Mission dedicated to providing critical home repairs and constructing wheelchair ramps at no cost for low-income families in Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties. CHM believes in the call to help one another and has transformed the lives of hundreds of families through donations and volunteerism.
CHM partners with volunteer teams from local organizations, businesses, and churches, offering them opportunities to give back to their communities. This collaborative spirit has been essential to CHM’s success, allowing the organization to continue serving those most in need.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our mission over the years,” Williams continued. “Each ramp we build, every repair we make, is more than just a construction project—it’s a lifeline for families who face daily challenges due to limited mobility or unsafe living conditions.”
As CHM celebrates this incredible milestone, the organization looks forward to continuing its mission of providing safe, accessible homes for all. To learn more about CHM’s work or to find out how you can get involved, please visit www.chesapeakehousingmission.org
